Websites like Ppoint and Google have and or do have had used or are using strategies historically that might earn your awareness and be found interesting.
You can’t make a link farm. (I got banned one time when I didn’t know). And your not supposed to and you shouldn’t. I got unbanned once I followed the instructions as to how to fix it. You have to show you are making worthy content and remove all the links you weren’t allow. It’s scary and stressful but at least when I did it by mistake I got back out of it just fine. I’d hope it’s still just as easy if you got caught for anything because it’s worth it to follow in line and make sure you do follow the rules. When you get to have the chance to exist again.
Link Farm Idea Technically (Ppoint example)
The very popular website Ppoint uses this.. Keep in mind that Ppoint could mean any website collection and I’m sure it exists. The P stands for prog as in progressive. There are actual versions out there not getting banned. Ppoint is a placeholder for actual references doing this. An almost exact version of what a link farm is.. And they get in no trouble and it must be legit. They link to like 8 sites they have all working together and linking to each other mostly. Which is kind of insane. But all their websites actually have their own purpose and are filled with “content” so they’d seem as if they are useful.
It’s not exactly a scheme or anything but 8 has got to be pretty close to the maximum. And you can probably get away with maybe 4. The idea is they are all supporting each other which is a violation of Googles link scheme rules. Knowing that by chance you could maybe make and run like 3(how couldn’t it be 4) or 4 websites all connected, similarly to Ppoint has to be let to be doing.. means there is some leigh weight in what you can and can’t do when you couldn’t really tell when you do know if they did it with say 10 or 12 websites they’d get penalized.
It’s interesting. The thing to learn isn’t that it works or that it’s a better idea it’s more along the lines of knowing the trouble you can avoid is real. The cost of getting caught is insane. If you make money from your site then getting banned ruins your life. And online is fun to be doing so you don’t want something bad to happen.
As long as you aren’t obviously banking on a set of websites overpromoting each other it seems like a reasonable idea. Cool so maybe I can link 3 websites like Ppoint. I say always guide yourself to follow less when less has less punishment. And somehow maybe the prestige of Ppoint let’s them get away with it.
And most seriously you’d be so careful with the idea given that you can probably just 3 websites between their pages instead of on a home page or sitewide. Because it just has to be a link farm and getting banned isn’t worth it even if you could and were maintaining several websites to an appropriate standard.
You just wouldn’t expect to get away with it as I’m sure you can understand.

“Self News” The Big old Google (Violate?!)
What google and youtube used to do (not sure if they still do) is link news website collections which you couldn’t influence of be published on simply to Google and Youtube as a sort of private outlet.
Here’s how this one works.
When you have a page rank 10 and an 8 or so you’d link to your outlets and expect maybe around page rank 6. You’d then take your bunch of page rank 6 outlets and write news and content that had to seem legitimate but really you would just be working a link scheme to push power and get power back and push relevance and pass relevance forward where you needed it.
Really making a news website has to be a good plan if what I said above has to work. It probably does. Then the fact that it was Google Only influence meant they could control it but it let me see the very sneaky.. We won’t let you get involved because our news outlet is private.
News outlet kind of or almost means public. And the news was most likely a ‘Tampered with’ that would leave you wondering. And you’d think might be sketchy.
That’s two.
Google probably shouldn’t of needed it but finding it and doing the research I did doesn’t mean it wasn’t a good idea.
Theory Of PBNs And Flexibility (Not To Be Violations)
Really it’s one thing to have the big guys do it and another to try and be clever or smart without still being risky.
One thing to note is that however it’s cared for and monitored might say we could maybe do it someway. For example if I buy a domain for an employee to maintain and grow then because we are two different users.. What the employee does shouldn’t harm you. That might be insane.
The second is ‘If I had the say’ it’s alright. Which means you might be able to should be true. But alas you don’t have the say so you couldn’t know or guarantee it.
So you might be interested in starting a PBN but it isn’t easy and it’s probably a bad idea and it isn’t basically accepted yet but according to my Starting A PBN And Big Ideas you might love to find out eventually that Ditto Effect 2 predicted how it would turn out. And see a little more about what you might need to know and see if eventually what we’d do would be legit to get to happen.
Extra note.: One of the original ideas I would of been working with.. if I was going to advice using a PBN is like using your high power domains to link to places that can’t get banned but do use linking in their algorithm to determine popularity and also give some kind of benefit where you yourself can’t be penalized for. But really if I am on Youtube., and you can actually see me and maybe I say my name then obviously my page rank 5 link to how to look after your kittens is an attempt at manipulation and then therefore could be put under review. But that version lets you not get your website banned if there’s no tricky business.
And of course linking to Youtube doesn’t get Youtube banned.
