Budgeting To Be A Webmaster

Needing money to run your project. Spending money to run your project. And Making enough money to run your project. Are all things you need to be aware of when budgeting to be a webmaster. Technically it might not cost a lot.

On the lowest amount of allowance you can see maybe $150-$250 when you pay it in a sum.

I came up with the Motivation Webmaster Budget Strategy I’ll explain near the bottom of the post.

Note: Any money you spend that you can explain you don’t get nothing from is lost expenses.

Hosting Costs (Around $150)

Usually a hosting plan costs $30 to $100 for 1 to 3 years. All at one time. But clearly if you spent $100 that’s for over the first 3 years. Still sometimes that’s the recognition of the price and what to pay for it. Choosing $30 isn’t bad. Giving it a year isn’t bad.

I choose the $30 one cause it’s like no amount of money. But then when I go for each next year it’s like $150. So my budgeting spend will be higher and I’ll have to pay more. Not too much of an issue.

Domain upkeep. If you have one or more domains which might be included in your hosting the amount you’d pay ranges. I had a domain I needed as a trophy that I just pay for to keep in my possession. I don’t group the expenses together but it’s online and part of a hobby. And the cost is low enough. It’s actually just my name .com. That’s $15 a year.

Whether or not you have other domains is up to you. I also forward a few domains to my homepage and subdomains of Ditto Effect 2. There are three so that’s $45 a year.

Hosting Costs Vs Upkeep (The Difference)

If I pay $120 a year for hosting and you have 8 domains you registered then our costs are the same in our expectation but the reason, what it’s for, and why we’re paying is different. That doesn’t matter. Some people use Wix and stuff like that which costs like $20 a month. What to call it when it’s different alters our perspective but not what we’re talking about. That’s like $240 a year.

If it’s possible then you’d pay what it costs you instead of what the upkeep has to be when it makes the most sense.

Budgeting To Cover The Costs

I don’t pay $240 a year instead of $30 (for the first year). That’s insanely different but not insane. So then like hosting costs $30 to $240 a year say. But for a budget (which actually means the implicated and implementable) you need to cover the costs.

Now a webmaster who earns $150 can cover my expenses for example but the implicated cost of a webmaster might need to earn $250 for the Wix version but otherwise according to the difference would have profited an extra $100.

An Example

Doesn’t matter how you measure the difference but it does matter to handle the upkeep. If you make 1 million and spend 999 thousand and I make 10 thousand but spend 8 thousand then I made $2000 which is more than you. I’d have made $1000 more. Doesn’t matter that’s pretty easy.

Paying More For Less Profit

If we were equally successful (making say $100 profit in a year) but you paid $100 more for your services then I made $100 and you just broke even. Is realistic. That’s not important. Making any money above to up to the cost is below the expectation.

Paying less for more profit isn’t the idea either. Breaking even is a tremendous goal and a great achievement. The sums for a year could range between $2k and $4k (being equally modulated for) and just need to end up making more than $0.

If you pay $4k and make $6k is the same as if I pay $2k and make $4k. For the difference of our investment. And result of working on our hobby. Note: $1k, or $2k will be my example for our choices of what we’d pay.

This idea doesn’t change the budget because valuing the worth based off of the result is simple money economics. You’d try your best and do your best and go along with what it is if it feels comfortable. It’s not guaranteed to make money also.

The Budgeting Strategy

When you need upkeep for resources that cost what they end up costing then. You can cover them the way you mean to for whatever they had to be. When you are paying for some things in sums (ie 3 years of hosting) the money you’ve spent is what it feels like. Your down $100 instead of $33 a year if for any reason your journey ended.

Nobody says not to pay $20 a month. But a webmaster budget is money you have money from and money you don’t lose by spending. Ie I make $75k a year so I can pay $20 instead of $12 when the person paying $12 makes $38k a year. Isn’t it kind of worse for the $12 a month one!?

Technically if we earn nothing and I pay $30 (for a year) and you pay $240 (for a year of Wix) then I had to be the winner. That’s like the lowest cost. And the price we’d pay to see you or I are and there is a winner.

Motivation Webmaster Budget Strategy

This part needs to be a few sections.

Take It A Year At A Time

Variably make gains where the chance explanation lets you distribute your constituency for and towards your hobby as explaining upkeep. Say you work and normally get $2k for a bonus at the end of the year. Now if you for some reason get a $4k bonus you didn’t expect you made $2k. Where this is going is to have made you your upkeep.

What you needed was 1k or 2k per year. So now you have 1 or 2 years to work on your hobby. Easy but I can’t control my bonus. You need it to somehow be free money, which might just be smart money. If you can cut out of your budget 1k or 2k amounts you can be proud enough to have earned 1 or 2 years. A buffer when you set aside the money as spent expenses.

Example Circumstance And Opportunities

I was investing and did this variably and got to 3 years. A few years ago GIC (guaranteed investment certificates) were worth 5%. I didn’t use this for constituency. But it dropped to about 3% which is even lower. Then I got lucky and found an investment I can start that pays out 15%. Then I can measure a 12% difference. If I switch over my investment then I see about a 12% difference. Which will get me a $2k amount additional I can use for one 2k(1k twice) means 1 or 2 years.

Smart Money

This is free money, smart money. Money padding that says if I were 1 to 2 years behind my target in my hobby I’d be covered by a reasoning of my own that had to explain why when I spend the money I spend and don’t at least break even (or see profit). I wasn’t rung out and disregarded as a bad investor or in practicing my hobby.

Ridiculous Expenses

Check mark on X costs $100. Emailing list collection costs $100. Website theme cost $100. SEMrush costs $200 for one month and I’d need it twice in a year. That’s $700 right away. These are all nonsense expense items you can almost never explain. And it’s not clear that it would be easy to end up making $700 to dig out of the hole.

Do You Know How To Succeed

If you can’t guarantee it then maybe ‘what are you doing?’. And if you can guarantee it how far back will you have got? These are ridiculous expenses if you can’t prove you can beat them.

Where The Success Comes From

Making a website succeed is harder than it used to be. Getting what you hope to expect could be impossible. And it might take 1000s of hours to really make something. Starting with progress then moving on to conversion demands a lot. I’ve made money before but I can tell the difficulty has gone up maybe 10 times. Not succeeding is a practical option. Making money is hard.

Where The Money Comes From

If you have a monetize and track ing of success being had to use, go from, make sense out of your miles ahead of anybody’s target. And maybe you just make it seem easy. But this is what works for me.

Identifying opportunities and making better investments really helps. Even if it’s something like going through a training course at work to get a higher position with better pay.

I hope to have a monetize and you may as well need to have one.

Every time the smart money comes in there’s no need to worry or give up. For as far as it gets me if I add it to my budget. Where I otherwise don’t budget for losses. (losing $700 for a hobby is a lot).
